Bariatric Surgery is the area of surgery that treats people who are so overweight that they are suffering health consequences of the excess weight.  The surgical therapy of morbid obesity usually involves operations on the stomach such as the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, Adjustable Gastric Banding (including the Lap-Band® procedure), Biliopancreatic Diversion, or other procedures.  Most weight loss operations dramatically restrict one's ability to eat, thus promoting weight loss. To learn more about Morbid Obesity click here.
